Description

As a Delivery Driver, you will play a critical role in our operations by safely operating our fleet of delivery vehicles to transport our orders to designated locations, including interbranches, customer material delivery product/vendor pick-ups, among others. Your commitment to safety is of utmost importance as you will be expected to adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies. Loading and securing the order packages, pallets, and/or crates in the delivery vehicles will require your careful attention to prevent any damage during transportation. Your expertise in driving and delivering delicate materials will contribute to the success of our operations.

To ensure the vehicles are in optimal working condition, conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections will be part of your routine. It will be essential for you to maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that may occur. Your collaboration with our dedicated logistics team will be crucial in planning efficient routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.

Clear and effective communication with team members and supervisors is expected as you report any issues or concerns related to transportation or delivery. We prioritize following all safety protocols and procedures to guarantee the safe handling and transportation of our products. Providing exceptional customer service is a key aspect of this role, and we expect you to deliver the glass hardware professionally and courteously.

You will be responsible for keeping the delivery vehicles clean and organized, and promptly reporting any maintenance or repair needs. Additionally, you'll assist with daily warehouse activities, such as picking and organizing materials or fulfilling any other tasks assigned by your supervisor, including uploading and unloading material to the truck, supporting the shipping station, material allocation, quality control when receiving freight, etc.

Qualifications:

• High School Degree or GED required; Associate Degree preferred.

• Forklift certification and warehouse equipment operation experience preferred. OSHA certification is a plus.

• +3 years of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Proven experience as a delivery driver, with a focus on handling fragile materials, is an advantage.

• In-depth knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure compliance.

• Excellent driving skills with the ability to navigate various road conditions confidently.

• Attention to detail and the ability to handle glass hardware delicately during loading and unloading.

• Loads, unloads, and prepares outgoing parcels with proper packaging and branding. Serve as a warehouse associate while not in route, fulfilling orders, and collaborating with all warehouse tasks as requested by the supervisor.

• Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate delivery records and manage time effectively.

• Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and report any issues promptly.

• Self-motivated and able to work independently while also being a valuable team player.

• Physical fitness to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and standing for extended periods.

• Collects payments and ensures transactions are properly recorded.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This dynamic role as a Delivery Driver at our company is physically demanding, fast-paced, and primarily conducted outdoors. It entails constant lifting, lowering, and carrying of packages ranging from 50 lbs to 80 lbs.

As the incumbent, you will be required to regularly lift or transport items weighing up to 80 pounds. You must possess the physical strength and endurance necessary to handle these loads effectively. To aid in the movement of materials, you will have access to equipment such as hand carts, dollies, or forklifts, as well as company vehicles.
